yeah i know what you mean and to be honest with you now that i think about it since i got my car dyno tuned the only thing i have changed has been the stiffness of my shifts( i am automatic) so i can see what you are saying there. How much did the chip cost you. At my tuner show a tunes $300 so i know how much that costs but what about the chip?

I think my situation will tell you how "safe" nitrous is..

I have a v6 mustang on a stock 150k+ bottom end, hitting it with a 100 shot and launching the car on the juice.

IIRC i paid around $450 for the chip, and time on the dyno.

OP,
I think MRTSTANG has addressed this pretty well.
Since I would only use spray at the track, it is not a problem for me to switch from my daily street tune to the spray tune, but a switched set-up like MRT has would be the best of both worlds if you wanted to use spray on the street also.

MRTSTANG,
How much did the 100 shot reduce your 1/4 mile ETs??? You and I have pretty similar set-ups. If I go thru with adding a nitrous kit, I would like to only spray a 75 shot. However, I also want to break into the 11's, so I need enough to get me from my 12.5 motor ET down into the 11's. I am thinking the 75 shot should do it.

I haven't been to track yet since i did the cams. Before cams on the 100 shot i gained 8/10's and 10 mph with the same 60ft. If i had to guess i'd say a strong running 75 shot would put you somewhere between 11.8-12.0 with roughly the same 60ft.
