Which Borla's do you have? In the meantime try the search button. There is a ton of info on this subject. Also there are 100's of sound clips for Mustangs alone on places like You Tube, Mustang Exhaust, etc...

As far as the headers go...do long tubes or don't do at all. Again do a search on that and you'll see why.

i think the majority of people would say O/R pipes....also there is less exhaust restriction.

I'm pretty sure both me and Mrstang would both say F o/r pipes lol. We both had them on our setups at one point and both went back to catted because they sounded like **** lol. Any straight through style muffler will sound a hell of alot better catted than with non cats. Unless you like raspyness and drone.

+1 very true Gt04. Some straight through mufflers just sound horrible with a o/r pipe. It's usually the ones that are physically smaller than most (like SSS Terminators) or have little to no packing (like LM 1's). They are going to sound the worst.

Also the exhaust restriction between high flow catted and o/r pipes is next to nothing. It's like comparing x pipes to h pipes...maybe like 1 hp lol.

exactly, Maybe with a chamber styled muffler you can get away with it, but borla, sss, lm1/2's, bassani sound like crap non catted. My .02

One deciding factor for me to o/r was price. The difference in o/r and catted was huge and I'm not big on cash lol. And I must say IMO my car sounds quite good. Not very raspy at all. Loud when you want it to, but it is also pretty easy to live with for long trips with little to no raised voices for conversation with passengers

u also have to think that your CEL is gonna be on if u get an o/r midpipe, but u could correct that with a tuner if you have one
