Default <------NEW TO MUSTANGS NEED HELP!!!!!

I HAVE A 2000 MUSTANG 4.6 AUTOMATIC

the tranny was slippin so i dropped the pan to change the filter and put a new gasket on and when i was pouring out the old fluid there was a plug time thing floating in there. so i sent a pic of it to a friend and he told me it was a governor.. how would that have got into the pan and where did it come from?

its garbage its a dipstick plug that ford has in the tranny's from the factory to keep things from getting into them on the assembly line. when the dipstick gets put in it falls to the bottom of the pan and stays there. just throw it away its not needed anymore.

Welcome to the forum. There's no need to yell (typing in caps gives the impression you're yelling).

Your picture isn't working. There's a sticky that explains how to put pictures into a thread.

I don't believe a that a dipstick plug would cause a transmission to slip. But, I'm no transmission guru.
