Problem with Loosing air in tire
Hello All,
Recently purchased a used tire and ever since I noticed i would have to add air to the tire just about every week. The wheel is somewhat bent and chipped from hitting curbs from previous owner. Is there anyway I can patch the wheel or add some kind of bonding to make it hold without buying a new wheel. The tire is in great shape so I'm positive its not the tire but the wheel. Thanks.

^^^ agree with Lilroush
You can check for leaks yourself pretty easy.
Spray the wheel \ tire with soapy water and look for bubbling.
That will show where leak is coming from.
PS..Check valve stem area , alot of the time the tire changer doesnt replace stem.
If it the rim leaking, better off buy another one.
If its bent that bad it could be out of round as well causing more headaches

I agree with all of the above, also any visible damage to the rim would have to be quite intense to cause a leak, The tire bead seals on the lower inside wall and bottom of the rim's seat, it takes a lot more than curb-rash to affect that seal.
As others have said I would suspect the valve stem, and a nail or "X" in the tire. Often the head breaks off a nail or screw and in get embedded in the tire so deeply that you cannot even see it. Once I had a small nail (6d or so) in a tire that didn't leak at all--we found it sticking through the inside when mounting a new tire...

I had a tire that got low on air randomly...took it to one tire shop and they put that wheel (with the tire on) in a tub of water and showed me some air slowly leaking out the rim. They said it was not fixable and wanted me to get a new one...
I went to another tire shop and they sealed it. I think they pulled the tire off and put it back on with a sealant or something...I dunno, but it did not leak since.
The wheel did not look visibly damaged, if that helps.
