Anyway, the prices for something like that should be about the same really. I haven't had to pull one myself but I have been told the 4.6 is easier to pull than a 5.0....IDK...the fact that it was so expensive is because its easier for them to replace the whole short block or motor than it is for them to actually replace the small stuff.
ill you from firsthand experience that the 302 is 1000X easier than the 4.6...

Both are easy to work on.
But I agree..The Ford SB \BB is a cake walk over the 4.6L all day to work on

Chevy SB\BB is even easier and cheaper

The 4.6 isnt bad if you understand that the only effective mod is a blower. lol

If you go into it knowing this and just buy a blower from the start its ok
When you try to mod it otherwise its pretty lame.

I learned this the hard way, just like everyone else.

You know.....I keep hearing you guys say this and I keep thinking that it just isn't right.....IDK what kind of power levels and what not you guys are really trying to achieve but I think 350-400 with a N/A 32v that revs to 7k is pretty easily achievable.....

Will it take a little more money...yes....but technology costs money...
