Seafoam? Do it or not?

If this seafoam can cause stuff to break up and clog filter.
My guess is it would clog oil journals before filter .Newer engines has smaller oil journals these days most of the reason 20\50 isnt used in new engines today and 0-30 or 5-30 is used.
Not to good for motor if that happens

I actually had a pile of crap break off in my buddies ranger. It was his moms truck and he of course took it out like an asshat slamming gears off the rev limiter. Well a chunk of crap broke free and it clogged the pickup screen so bad it stopped all oil flow completely. He instantly shut it off when he heard the noise and saved the engine. But point is, if you have enough buildup it can happen without seafoam, so better to have something happen when it's in a controlled environment rather than randomly on the road when you least expect it.

Snake Oil
The only way that crap works is for cleansing on low mile engines that have the conditioning regularly. The only thing it will do with a high mileage engine is take away the gunk that's holding your seals together and put it at the bottom of your oil pan and back up your filters.. That's double death right there.

My O2 sensors went after I used that stuff. I just wanted to try it to see what happened. I barely had any smoke and it was a waste of my time. No changes at all and at the time I had 86k on the engine.
Just run synthetic oil and you will probably be okay.

I used it a while back on my NPI when it was bolt on and didnt notice any improvements and the motor ran fine for years after.
With that said, If it aint broke dont fix it.
So I will not be putting it in my PI motor with this blower and really so no reason to use it unless you have a junked up motor that barely runs and need a last resort to attempt to clean it out.
If you do decide to do it i would listen to these guys advice and change the oil and filter very soon after

I use it on DD's but not my mustang. I think it helps. I always run it through a vacuum line on the intake. Personally wouldnt be comfortable putting it in the oil. As for the Mopar stuff. I snagged a can of that when I worked at a chrysler dealer a while back. Also seems to work pretty good.

Run a good synthetic and change your oil regularly and you don't ever need that crap. Honestly I'm not sure I will ever use it again. I thought about using it on my GT a year ago but decided against it. As said above, if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you have a crapped up engine and some stuck oil rings then I would say give it a shot. If there's nothing wrong with the engine, leave it alone and run a good oil.
I have used it in my gas though to clean the injectors and such. It's a great solvent but you have to be careful because some injectors are very fragile an you could eat up the seals if it's too strong of a mix.
The best thing to do is run premium fuel (less ethanol) and use synthetic oil. They have cleaners in them to keep everything nice, you get what you pay for.
