if you look up what the bore is on that motor you will find it is actually bigger than the 4.6L which is 3.55in, the 450r is 3.78in. The bigger difference was that it was a short stroke so it could rev to 9800rpms.
Also, I was suggesting to run a running an NA E-85 with a higher CR.
When you look at what the affective CR was of that the 450r set up. At 11psi it would be somewhere around 18:1.
So I if I was gona do an E-85 set up for the 4.6 i would go somewhere around 14:1 or so. I would go higher but it would be really hard to start a 4.6 with any higher CR.

I think he meant the displacement,n ot the bore.
As for the debate on the heads. There is much more to heads then flow. Velocity of the air matters as well. Also, another big factory is the size of the intake and exhaust ports and how many cc's they can hold. Another is the shape of the chamber and how the gases inside move. There are many more things that go into a head design. The 4v engine just better supports these things then a 2v can.
