Default Quick question about lowering my 00 GT

I am planning on getting the H&R SS springs with the isolators, and the MM CC plates from americanmuscle.com. My GT's suspension is 100% stock at the moment and has about 100,000 miles on it. Will I need to get new shocks and struts or can I go without and run the new springs on the stock shock/struts? If so, how many miles can I expect to go before the stockers blow?

After doing a big of digging it seems that some people have had zero problems with the stock shock/struts with a 1.75" drop. Just looking for some second opinions specific to my mileage as this place seems to house some experience mustang owners.

Thanks in advance.

(I also realize the ride won't be as smooth without replacing the shock/struts, but at the moment it'd be worth it for me $$$-wise.)

I have never replied this before because I like to be helpful, but there have been so many discussions regarding this subject lately...

DO A SEARCH and read recent posts on this matter.

Enjoy your new suspension mods!

I ran 4k miles on my SS's W/ stock shocks and struts before I swapped to Tokico D-specs... They were all blown. My car only has 65k miles. If you're at 100k now, wait the extra month or so and save for shocks and struts. and do it all at once..

CC plates, KEEP them in POSITIVE orientation.
