Default Impossible to install headers this way?

If I have the cylinder heads off the shortblock, yet the shortblock is still in the car, can I put my headers in at this time? Will there be enough room to install the heads/headers as a unit? I know it would be impossible to tighten the bolts with the K member still in the way and attached from what I have read, but If I dont have to get in there to tighten bolts, can I get the back end of the header snaked through? I'm Wanting to do cams, 100 shot, and long tubes on the stock block and than when I get my forged shortblock finished up(christmas time-ish depending on if I get a new place of my own or not) I'll just be upping the shot and possibly going to the Eddy Jr. intake.

hmmm i dunno if you can set them in that way or not, but it's deff worth a try. i'm sure you're atleast going to be able to set the headers in first, then the heads. but that would still make it a pain to tighten the bolts.

It seems like a lot more trouble that just supporting the motor and dropping the k-member.

I know for a fact it is a bitch and a half to get the 2v heads out with just the stock manifolds on. There was a lot of twisting and turning involved and I ended up denting both heads on the gasket mating surface.

I would not recommend trying it myself, saving a days worth of work is not worth the extra costs that could be incurred.

Just my .02

The heads will be coming off anyways because I will be needing ground intake valves with the cams I am choosing.. so Either I put the head back in with nothing and drop the K, or I figure a way to slide it in with the header already bolted to it.
