My car is 05/01 and comes up 2001 GT Deluxe Convertible but it seems to have some or all the Premium options like leather/Mach 460 with 6 disc changer and stock bullit wheels (other then the Mach 1000). it kind of seems like 2002 had a diffrent or more defined option list from Deluxe to Premium and my interior is diffrent color then Nomad8888's car but same Silver outside.

PM me (or post) a photo of the VC label and I will decode it...

"Comes up" where? I just remembered (while compiling the 2000 and 2001 VIN and VC decoders for my website) that there is nothing in the VIN or VC label that indicates the trim level, just that it is a GT (P42 for a coupe, P45 for a 'vert; in the VIN).

The good news is you can sort that all out yourself now that I have compiled the 2000 VIN/VC decoder...

That's what I had thought, as I said above there is nothing in the VIN or on the VC label that indicates the trim level.

From 2001 through 2003 the "base" GT model was the Deluxe, the Premium model was just a trim package applied to the base model; so the VIN decoder sites call them all "Deluxe".

You can decode your 2001 VC label with the information presented here.

The 2001 VIN/VC stuff is from the 2001 shop manual as printed in June 2003, it likely reflects a production change made in the late 2001 MY. Good to know however I will add it as a possible code for 2001 silver...

The Red Book 2001 entry (generally compiled from "current at the time" data) lists the YN code for "silver", that is also the 2000 code for silver.

As to the CN8247 you will have to ask whoever wrote it on there...

Found it at paintref.com, the Z3 code is an alternative code for the same 2001 silver--probably a different lot or sourced from a different manufacturer, and apparently not used on Mustangs.

Inaccurate data in the manual likely (wouldn't be the first time)--good catch, I'll list both on the VC decoder...
