Anyone thinking about DDM Tuning HID kits...
So, I decided that I would get new foglight housings and halogen bulbs a while back after not having fogs for the better part of a year. Well, as it turns out they are basically useless. So a little after Christmas I did some research on DDM Tuning's products and read a lot of great reviews regarding their quality.
However it wasn't until after I purchased that I found out that they recently started shipping directly from China to your door. This increased the time it takes to get their kits incredibly, mine took close to 3-4 weeks to get here, but for a $40 complete HID kit, who can complain?
My first impressions are that it look likes a surprising well built kit being cheap Chinese pieces.
Well, once I get the ballasts all hooked up and the bulbs in the housing and go to turn them on, only one side was working....okay...WTF? Got to playing with the wires going into one of the bulbs after swapping ballasts and reversing polarities, and noticed one wire was VERY loose. So I take the shrink tubing off and find that the soldering on the wire in question was total garbage. I resoldered what was there and added some more, and got it to work properly. So, honestly considering the price, I don't mind. It could be a pain to some though.
Here's the color of the lights (supposedly 4500K, 55w kit)
Here's what they look like from a distance
All things considered, if you don't mind waiting half a century for the kit and maybe having to fix some things...they are a great value so far.
Side note for those who preach about HID's in halogen housings, due to how recessed and low the fog lamps are I am not concerned with blinding others as they are not bad even at level with them. However, I still firmly believe that putting these in headlamps is a horrible idea.

That's great to hear! This is the kind of review that makes me feel like I made the right choice. How frequently do you get flashed from other drivers with those headlights?

recently one of the ballasts went bad, so i had to send it back and get a new one, the nice thing is the lifetime warranty.
i would never go back to halogen bulbs though, i live in north dakota and sometimes being out in the country or lake territory in minnesota at night these lights are AMAZING
i do get flashed on occasion, but i could really care less
