I was on Automotix.net looking for a new Mach 460 head unit for the wife's Mach1. Were trying to keep it completely stock, so no aftermarket unit is in the plan. But, they say there are different model #s for these '04 head Units. So, does anyone know what they mean. How many different Mach460 Head Units can there be?

Hi yes, it's the Mach 460. If yours is a convertible, there might be a difference. At least that's they way Automotix has it. Thank you for your help too.

 

This is what I found. I have a 2003 GT Convertible with the 460. I also wanted to keep everything stock so when the CD player started showing errors, I was on the hunt for a stock 460 radio. There were 2 types of radios, one with the SAT button and one without. I have the one without the SAT button which has 3 different plugs in the back. I went on E- Bay and found the radio without the SAT radio button and the 3 different plugs on the back. The numbers made no difference. I found one for 60 dollars. If you go to E-Bay and search Mach 460 radios, things will be cleared. Hope this helps

 

Thank you. Yeah, I looked at Ebay, but the choices were sparse, and the units I saw looked worn. I didn't see one one with the SAT Button, which is the one were looking for. Thank you again.

 

I have one but it doesn't work right! That's why I got rid of that POS

 

If you do some looking around, I've heard there is a company out there somewhere that rebuilds these things.

 

I checked them out. May have to, if I can't get it replaced.

 

When it starts giving CD errors ...i carefully knock the hell out of it and it will start working again.

 

I like that. may give it a try. It doesn't give any ERRORS, it just skips slightly at different intervals. When we went to Charlotte for the 50th, it skipped while on the way. Coming back, it didn't skip at all. So, I wonder if the Laser Tracker was sticking.
