Default Bad idle problems PLEASE HELP

So I’m having idle problems with my 98 Ford Gt has the 4.6l stage 3 American racing cams/ shorty headers/ 73mm BK throttle body/ short throw hurst transmission/ no cats or resignators and single chamber mufflers. Now my car has been driving fine until I recently had to change the TOB and got it done successfully but now I’m having some very weird & bad idle problems when I come to a stop after driving for a while but sometimes it doesn’t happen when I drive a short time frame. Now I’ve checked all my hoses, bolts are tight, and I also have made sure to put some injector cleaner in the tank sense the car was jacked at a tilt for so long due to not time and work lol now when I saw it has bad idle problems I mean it will drop all the way from 1000 to literally the point to wear it wants to cut off and die. Changed battery checked all my wires to the battery. Now some people said to check the fuel filter or pump? Idk I’m lost for my next step

might need to adjust the TPS on the new throttle body, or it could be something in the tune not meshing with the new airflow from the different throttle body

Idle air control valve comes to mind also. You can remove it, and clean it with Gumout , see if that helps. I had similar idle issues. I actually replaced mine (it is 20 years old after all) with an aftermarket unit which caused different issues, so I cleaned the original and reinstalled.

the throttle body isn’t new but I’ll look into the TPS and no tune on it either. But have been meaning to see what it’s tuned too or at that I don’t know of.

also another question. I have to do my emissions again. Now I have no CATS or resonators and I’m trying to pass emissions without buying a new set. I’ve heard 02 cheaters elbows on the upend pipe where cats are that it will trick the system to thinking that there are cats on it. I live in Missouri and just need someway to pass emissions without cats!
Anything that can help will be appreciated 👍🏼

the car has to have some sort of tune on it with the cams and headers. Any reputable tuner using SCT software can set the monitors to pass emissions. I have a turbo and about 4' of straight pipe on my 00 mustang and rolled right thru inspection/emissions lol

All depends what the inspection process is in your state. Michigan no longer does emissions testing, but once upon a time when they did do the testing, it included a visual inspection of the cats. No idea what Missouri does.
