Default Help diagnosing valve tick

Hi this is my first post here but you guys have helped me many times before via google. Any way I did a pull yesterday and then when I left off I heard a ticking it is constant and speeds up with acceleration and down. I know it isn’t a knock because my brothers cobra has rodknock and I heard that pretty recently I just want to know when I take these valve covers off what should be my plan of attack to diagnose the engine I believe it to be a lifter but I’ll leave the Audio clip

Most likely timing chain guides worn thru. Youre going to need to at minimum pull the valve covers to inspect the followers and lash adjusters first. Then check slack in the timing chain. My money is a on a chain guide. happy hunting!

I pulled the passenger one off because it sounded a little more to that side looked at all lifters and lash adjusters and timing chain was nice and tight
