^^ I think what they mean is that most people think that top end is effected because it'll go through the gears so quickly that when you hit final drive (auto) or 5th you'll run outta gear. But it's(top speed) not gear limited but drag limited from my understanding.

I don't know but I will most likely go with 4.10s in the springtime..or possibly sooner.

It has nothing to do with top speed of the car.

It has to do with top speed in 4th gear. You do not want to shift into 5th in the quarter mile. If you are n/a, that is not normally a problem. But if you are turbo/supercharged, you could reach 117 mph (6,000 rpm w/4.10s) before the quarter mile is up. That is why FI cars consider gears taller than 4.10s (ie 3.55 or 3.73).

Those of you who have had gear installs done. When there is a problem with whine just how bad is it? I think I could live with some whine just like I live with a little drone from the boomtubes. I just want an idea of how bad it really can be.

That's the trick though isn't it? Proper install. Seems it's a difficult thing to find judging by how many botched installs we read about here.

I don't know. I'm nervous about it. My "city" has a population of 100K and no legit performance shops. Makes me real leery about taking it someplace here. Ford wants $800 labor locally to do the install and who knows how that would go anyway.

hey guys im definatley gonna go 410s or maybe just maybe 430s if it all makes sence i can deal with an extra 100 rpm over the 410s for even more multiplication but one thing puzzles me if there is more tq multiplication wouldnt it cause more wear on the car? i understand the reving issues but i mean axels, trans, rear end, ect. with the extra multiplaction wouldnt it put more pressure on these parts causing more wear. If not the hello 430s but otherwise ill stick with 410 plans as i really dont mind shifting and id like to think im pretty quick. also its never gonna be charged or lowered but summer dd with weekend drag runs.

lol looks like you had too much coffee when you wrote that ^^

I heard of people running 4.30s on the street and they really like them.
