S&B CAI +25???
According to RPMOUTLET the S&B CAI adds 25 HP with no tuning. Does anyone have verification of these numbers? If I could get 25 with no tune vs 30 with a tune I would choose not to tune since I have some warranty concerns. That said I have a hard time beleiving I would see these numbers.

RE: S&B CAI +25???
Its not the cost that keeps me from tuning.
I know it has been dicussed OVER and OVER on here but warranty is my main concern.
Also I really dont know anyone around I trust to tune the car. Canned tunes also make me nervous. Esp when I would be ordering a tune from someone in a completly different climate than me.
I am probably just being paranoid....

RE: S&B CAI +25???
I kinda doubt 25hp.
"no tune" isn't true, IMHO.
The cars have 2 fuel maps.
1 is part throttle, and gets input from the oxygen sensors, to get the right mixture in the engine. Not a big deal if you put a CAI on, and it lets more air in.
The problem is when you floor it (WOT) that is a "closed" map. Meaning the car is programmed to put a certain amount of fuel and open the throttle body a certain amount, depending on engine RPM. If the car is getting 10% more air at any given throttle body setting, that means the amount of air getting in has changed, but the amount of fuel hasn't. Which means the car will "lean out", and then bad things start happening.

RE: S&B CAI +25???
[sm=bs.gif] on RPMOUTLET...They're full of it in more ways than one. That being said, the S&B is a great CAI for no tune. I ran it for about 4-5 months and it was great. I also didn't want to mess with the computer due to warranty, but that didn't last long. S&B gains about 12-15 hp, as do all other CAIs without a tune.
