Default light vibration

hi guys...i'm getting a very light vibration (drone-like) when i get to 1200 rpms. not higher or lower, just at 1200. i was wondering if someone knows what is causing it. i think there is a TSB about this but it says it is only at 1500, so i was wondering if it could be the same case. i just hope my tranny is not damaged...if its tranny or motor mounts then i'm ok(less expensive than tranny) , and if its an exhaust problemthen i think i'm ok since i plan on getting some borlas (yes, i know they drone). i was just hoping any of you know about this problem or have this issue solved so i can live peacfully knowing that it is only exhaust drone.
so anyone knows anything?
thanks.

btw, its an automatic 2006 GT.

Default RE: light vibration

I too am getting a light vibration (drone-like) on my 2005 automatic GT with 10,000 miles on it. It is most noticeble between 1200 and 1800 rpms. It was also more noticeable at 3300 rpm by putting the car in 3rd gear, accelerating to 3500 and then coasting until it reached 3300 at which time the dash rattled quite a bit. It would also vibrate in the winter when first starting the car while the car idled at 800 rpm. I had the car at the dealers for a week in February. They claim to have had Ford engineers in to look at it and fine tune the transmission mount and exhaust mount locations. Apparently it is caused by an exhaust vibration. The vibration was much better when I got the car back but the vibration is still there.

I took the car in again in July and now the dealer says they can't hear or feel the problem.

If anyone else has had a similiar problem, I would appreciate hearing about it. I had hoped that by now a solution would have been found.

Thanks.

it's at either 800 or 1500.

try another dealer all they have to is put on the dampers.

i've noticed i have less vibration when OD is turned off.

well, i do hope the dampers are the solution, but in my car it is not at 800 or 1500...i only get it at exactly 1200 in every gear(1, 2, 3 D, N, R and P). and if i happen to have anything sitting in my cup holders (cell phone, ipod, coins, etc) they start to rattle thanks to the vibration. i have not been able to take it in but i hope next week i can, so i'll keep you guys updated...specially wkpps.
