Problems with throttle body?

Default Problems with throttle body?

I'm thinking of changing my throttle body on my 06' gt but i had a recent coneration with a buddy of mine who strongly advised against it. He said everyone he knew that changed out the stock throttle body had trouble with idle and other things, and some even lost power from it. Anyone here heard of problems with aftermarket hrottle body's or is my friend full of bs?

*think* I recall reading if you replace the TB, still using stock MAF, the sensor could 'peg' at 5 volts, go no higher...dont recall for certain though.

every so often, and after a reflash, or change in the tb, be sure to do this :

I have heard exactly what "your buddy" has heard: The aftermarket TBs are nothing but trouble.

Lurk around here for a while (or search the past posts) and you will see the horror stories for yourself!

I can speak from experience on this one. SAVE THE DOUGH! I experienced nothing but trouble. Eratic idle, safemode quite a few times, no gains on the dyno. [:@] Went back to the stock t/b which will flow high enough for well over 500 hp.

The aftermarket throttle bodies for the S197 cars are less than desireable ( that is being nice... )

alright i am going to be buying a throttle body but i can't decide which size would be best. i have an 01 gt bullitt and it has a stock throttle body in it right now. i belive its the 54mm. would a 65mm or a 70mm be best? i think a 75mm is too big.
