I have heard you get a lot of gear whine with the 4.10s? Plus your mileage goes into the toilet? Sadly I have to do a lot of freeway driving and don't want to be driven crazy by the gear noise...Help?[sm=helpout.gif]

That maybe true with some gears, but not the FRPP 4.10's I had installed. My install said if i went with 4.30's I may get some whine, but there shouldn't be any going from 3.55's to 4.10's.

I hope to max out these gears in the 1/4 mile very soon by trapping 121 at 6krpms in 4th! That's with a 27.8 inch tall tire by the way.

Here's a niffty little calculator that will show you the mph for any rpms in any gear with any ring and pinion using the tire diameter of your choice.

the only gears that will whine are straight cut, like richmonds

after a week or so you will abs hate 4.10s, you will kick yourself for not going 4.30 in a 5 speed

What is the difference between the 4.10 and the 4.30 in regards to the 5 speed automatics? Also I see that alot of people went with 3.73 on the automatics. I am just trying to find out what everyones experience is before I spend the money to get this done.
