Please Help 4.10 gear question

Just went and got to drive my dads 2002 gt witch has a lot of money in it. His car has a built 302 5.0 motor. 04 cobra rear end IRS. 04 cobra trans 6speed. The car is putting down 375 hp and 380 TQ. One thing that you can do with this car that you can not do with mine is if you are in first gear going abd 20 MPH going around a corner or going in a line you can light the tires right up. The car has 4.10 gears and 2001 cobra block with crank. If I put 4.10 gears in mine will I be able to do that around a corner. My car is a 2006 gt brenspeed tune and the JLT2 CAI. Asking people that have 4.10 gears will I be able to do this, with out USING the clutch..

I dont think he knows what he is talking about. You can probably bore the stock motor out to a 302 but the part I dont get is why put 01 cobra internals in the car? Why not get aftermarket parts that are stronger if you are rebuilding the motor.

the only reason i could see for the cobra internals would be if they were take off parts that someone had laying around and he got a good deal on them. Anyway spinning your tires around a turn is probly not a good idea because you cant really see what is coming your way around the turn while you are drifting around a turn somewhat out of control.

Yeah, but if it was bored & stroked, he wouldn't be using the cobra crank & rods. I dunno, but I do agree with what you are talking about, and agree that he really doesn't know himself.
