Camming / Shift Kit for 07?
How hard is it to cam an 07 Mustang? Does it sound good?
Have any of you gotten your cars cammed?
Additionally, I've not found any shift kits compatible with an 05+ automatic transmission Mustang. Is there a reason behind that?
Thanks!

cams are a popular mod in the s197 world as far as discussions, but not too many people do it. not the best gains and its pretty costly.
There are several shift kits out there for the older model 5r55 used on the E-series vans and other fleet vehicles but as far as the 5r55s i haven't seen a shift kit. I think I heard someone say the transgo kit used with the old 5r55 will work on the 5r55s but all you realy need is a tune. I think because of the computer controls, most people just don't bother with a shift kit. Unlike the old AOD(E) and C4 that were more mechanical than these trannies.

I've never seen shift kits for our cars but it can be done viaa tune. The tune will alter the shift pressures to give you much harder shifts. Once tuned, you will be chirping 1-2 shifts and in some the 2-3 shifts as well.

On non-forced injection cars, cams are an expensive option given the gains. You have to decide whether it's worth it. This has been discussed at length (my own thread is https://mustangforums.com/m_3162444/tm.htm).
I have cams, and some other relatedoptions out there in the future (ported heads, longtube headers) prior to my installing a nitrous system. For me, it's worth it as I push my 1/4 mile ETs down. My initial dismay at the numbers was getting sucked in the BS and hype the magazines throw out to the masses. My tuner indicated he doubted I'd see more than 20hp gains--I got 23hp--I'm happy with that. Others have claimed more, albeit with slightly different bolt-on combos.
Here's how they sound... http://media.putfile.com/Comp-Stage-3-cams.
