Default Side exhaust question for Cervini's side exhaust problem

OK, my car is presently in the shop right now getting the Whipple HO. installed.
When I get it back at some point I have to fix the mid mufflew side exhaust problem i am having.

Here's the situation: On hard braking in a straingt line(hard braking mind you) the rear end seems to be hitting the exhaust somewhere around the flange at the rear end causing a ting ting ting noise.
I seem to have enought room between the flange and the exhaust to put 1 finger on top of the other at the closest point. Is that just not enough? does the rear end nose dive that much on braking hard?
Also. the original Sie exhaust from Cervinis had seperate flow tubes to connect to the mufflers with a slight bend in themand the new ones from Pypes don't ( more straight line with no bends ) Could that be the issue? could that slight bend be keeping my exhaust too close to the flange? Any Ideas hop to fix?

My remedy so far as I will be doing this already is a Adj UCA and Solid LCA's is this my BEST solution to stop diving and raisingof the rear end.
Or do I need Adj Lowers and a Adj Upper too?
Lowering of some sort will come in the future at some point.

Sean- I did not know that they changed some of the piping under the car with the exhaust setup from Cervinis after going with pypes for mufflers instead of Magnaflows. Regardless it sounds like you have enough clearance for regular driving but under hard decel you get a ting noise and you think it is the exhaust hitting the housing for the rear differential? I need pics ASAP....and I will compare it to mine this week (I promise) and see what I can come up with for you. Sorry to read about this problem but the first thing I thought is the suspension setup you get installed should take care of all if not most of the problem you are experiencing at this point. The stocksuspension does have alot of nose dive when decelerating hard on mine but I have not heard of any ting noise with mine as your setup is slightly different as you noted. I think you fixed this one on your own and hopefully your solution is the right one in the end! J

Hey J.

I would take picts today but the car is in Alabama getting the SC Work done. Might be a few days ( Saturday or Monday ) before I get it back to take pictures.
On the Original Cervini's side Magnaflow exhaust they provided 2 flow tubes to attatch to the mufflers. (1 SPECIFIC had a bend in it.) and the New Cervinis made by Pypes have the flow tubes already welded and machined and polished to the mufflers. BUT NO SLIGHT BEND.
I talked with them and they said it shouldn't be a problem. And under regular driving it isn't. But if you go hard on the brakes you can hear it and the side exhaust pipes on the drivers side moves up and down about 1/4" while the ting ting ting noise is being made. So I know contact is being made. Now is finding the remedy once I get the car back.

Are you saying that you can move the driver's side exhaust tip up and down a 1/4"?

Nah, The side exit tips are Rock Solid. What is happening is that IMO, When rolling the rear end is straight level. But when hitting the brakes Hard the rear end dives forward letting the rotating Flange hit the exhaust section coming after the mufflers going to the Drivers side outlet pipe causing the Ting Ting ting noise. Picture this. If under the rear of the car you can stick your middle finger on top of your index finger between the flange and the pipe but it must dive at least that much 1"- 1 1/2" on hard braking. I was hoping most would say that an ADJ Upper Control arm and either Solid or Adj Lowers would stop the so called diving.

Let me see how much clearance I have on mine. I'm pretty sure that it's more than 1". Mine is lowered with the Eibach prokits also.

Here ya go. There is probably 4-5 inches clearance with the clamps also turned upwards. Mine is the Magnaflow system though; I'm not sure how the Pypes system is arranged. This picture is with the suspension loaded, so it's close to how much clearance there is when the car is on the ground.
