Default lean or rich?

hey everyone.
has anyone had any problems with your tailpipes turning black?i even for a few minutes saw smoke coming out of them at idle.the car runs fine though.plus, its leaving black streaks on my back bumper right above the pipes.i noticed it when i had my intake and tune in.i took the tune out a few weeks ago and noticed again today.if anyone can tell me what it is,i would appreciate it.
thanks
paul

Your running rich, had same problem with canned Diablo tune,
got tune from BAMA and problem went away.
Better to be alittle rich than to lean.

It's called combustion. I'm not being funny, but it seems some think only water comes out the exhaust.

Anything south of 14.7:1 is rich, so you are always running rich at wide open throttle, regardless of the tune you use. If you just baby it everyday then you will see less soot in your tailpipes.
