Default SCT tune/JLT intake issues

Hey guys,

I am having problems with my JLT/SCT combo.

The car runs ok at WOT. But on takeoff at low throttle it feels like its running lean or not getting the correct A/F ratio.

Also noticed when driving at slower speeds and then giving it 1/2 throttle or more, the car sometimes tends to stumble/backfire bad before taking off.

I also have a custom tune in the SCT that I got from a store I purchased the parts from. It runs a bit better but shifts way too harsh and I cant adjust it to go softer. At 0% its too harsh, if I step it up, its brutal. This is my wife's car so I must keep it civil.

I am not sure if I should go back to stock box/tune, or try to work with this setup.

Anyone else experience this? Is there any software available for me to open up the tune I can download from SCT and change stuff myself, then load it into SCT and into car?

I have some tuning experience with tunercat and my lt1.
Again this is a basic car with just mufflers/jlt and sct tune for mods. Gonna stay this way as well.

Thanks for any help

You could try to reload the tune.

Custom tune is by Mustang Shop.

I tried to reload a tune, no difference.

I will try to go to stock.

Sounds like a quality tune might solve your problem.

I'm not sure if you got your issue resolved but I'm having the same issue as well but with the steeda CAI and X3 canned tune. I called Doug at Bama and he is sending out a new tune to me so I will let you know the results if you like.

Im not sure about Brenspeed, but i have experience from Bama and Evolution. Bama is way smoother driving, and Evolution feels like my car is going to break because the throttle response is so harsh. So i def say its the quality of the tune.

Sounds like a tune issue - as everyone is saying, get a tune from Bamachips (my preference) or Brenspeed and see how you like it.
