Default Two new weird noises

The first noise is most obvious RIGHT after the shift between 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd and 4th gears. It only happens when the RPMS are around 2000 to 2750 before the shift. The sound also happens once in a while when i let off the gas when i am in the same RPM range. Any idea?

And the 2nd noise comes from the front right, while braking. Its like a rattle but i've tried everything to make it disappear but nothing is working.

ANY IDEAS YALL?

Whenever you hear a noise the very first thing you need to figure out if it's engine rpm or vehicle speed dependent. This allows you to eliminate many variables.

The first noise is too hard to figure out since I have no description of the type of sound or intensity. Is it a grinding noise? Is it harder to shift recently?

The second noise (rattle) could be a number of things- does it get worse with speed? or worse the harder you brake? (could be a warped rotor or sticky caliper)- is more like a clunking noise when going over rough terrain? (could be a failed upper strut mount).

If you have access to a digital camera- make a video of the sound or noise; it would be a huge time saver. Unless you're in SoCal- then I can take a look at it in person.

I myself was also going to say, you neglected to describe the noise

Well the 1st noise is a metal on metal noise. Not anything too loud. Its hard to explain but even harder to tape the noise.

Its not a grinding more like a metal on metal noise that sounds for a few seconds, during which is makes contact then stops then make contact, then stops. It does this cycle less than 10 times in a very quick time period. roughly 1 or 2 seconds.

The noise also does not to be depend on speed. I mean it will happen around 30 MPHs but also occurs at 80. It seems to be depended on the RPMS, which to clarify, are around 2,250. It only makes the noise when the car shifts gears or i let go of the accelerator and the RPMS drop to 1,750.

That does seem like a strange noise. If have had throwout bearings that were RPM dependent, and make a coin rattling noise upon letting off the accelerator.

If you are getting a tin can rattle noise around 2500-3000 rpm, when the engine isn't fully warmed up, it could be the separator plate between the engine and transmission. There is a tsb for the problem, however it can be easily fixed at home.

I don't know but when I down shift in to first I think I hear something like a spinny or wine up toy car (you played with them as a kid) when I have the clutch down.

Well i took the car to the Ford dealership. I took the service manager for a ride and he said that hey couldnt hear anything and on top of that the mechanics listen to drills all day and that they probably wont hear anything either.

He told me if it gets worse to bring it back...

The noise isn't depended upon how cold or hot the engine is though.

It might be the bearings that socalwrench is talking about.
