Bolt on's or Rouscharger???
Hey guys, Ive been doing some research on here about the new Ford Racing Supercharger kit and the new Roushchargers. The 2010 Roush 427R with the Roushcharger does 0-60 and does the 1/4 Mile in 13.1 @ 108MPH. A stock Mustang GT does 0-60 in 4.9 Seconds, and 1/4 Mile in 13.5 @ 104.2 MPH. My thoughts are with all that extra power they could of atleast ripped off some better times then what they did. So that brings me to my question would it be smarter to go with Bolt on's and get near that supercharged power which doesn't sound so great unless you go with a supercharger running more than 5 pds of boost, but then there goes your warrenty. So would doing Bolt on's get you around the same mark. JLT is getting ready to release their new Intake and dyno results have come up with 26 HP and almost 30 more pd ft of torque. Match that with a Brenspeed of a bama tune and exhaust where do you think that would put our GT's? Now of course after warrenty is up then I'll probably go with a nice Supercharger that I can run 10 pds of boost on.

IMO, nothing is going to compete with the power of a blower and good tune.
You could definitely build a fast car with bolt ons, but I'd rather save for a blower.
I thought the mods in my sig would get me into the high 12s, but I have yet to get a 13 flat lol.

I agree with you, bolt on any s/c your car should do 0-60 in 4.4 and a 12.5 quarter.. Those #s would justify the cost..its all about specialized tuning with the Mustang...a set of tuned headers with exhaust ,a chip, a high performance cold air kit, larger throttle body with high flow injectors..that should yield a solid 75 to 90 hp. or if money is no object, buy Roush engine shown here:

Well, the dealer installed option will keep your warranty, while the 427 kit probably will not if that makes a difference. I'm fairly certain that they use the same s/c unit (eaton I think) so the potential is there.
Also, those boltons can void your warranty (again, if you are worried about that sort of thing). Also, when manufactures make HP claims from bolt ons, they tend to be a little inflated, or achived under the very best of condtions. So saying "X intake & X underdrive pully & X exhaust will get me close to s/c numbers" usually isnt as accurate is you'd like it to be.
