Thanks again for all the compliments. Final dyno numbers after a tune were 488/453 rwhp/tq.

I posted the sheets on another thread and am putting this info here for anyone from the future who may be contemplating a build and gets this thread in a search.

PS: To those from the future, welcome to the past!

Congrats Bruce....great numbers and at what psi are you running right now? Looks like 11 or 12? Do you plan on increasing the boost in the future?...awesome build!

Average was 11.8, peak was 12.6. No boost increases planned. Right now the injectors and maf are almost maxed. My tuner said that with bigger injectors and a mafia the car could make more power. He was impressed with the power level and that says alot.

those are great numbers for a mustang dyno, they typically read about 5-10% lower than dynojets. it depends how accurately they enter the weight of the vehicle into the software.

I have alot of faith in this tuner. Last year when I was non-intercooled I was curious about how his numbers would compare with a dyno jet. Went to a dynojet at a local speed shop. Told them I just wanted to compare numbers. They saw the Mustang dyno numbers. Wouldn't let me drive on the dyno. Horsepower numbers were very close, torque was higher by about 20. When I got home I realized they had cut the runs short (stopped at 6100 rpm) when the hp numbers were close to the Mustang numbers. Yes, they were pedaling the dyno! The dyno is just a tuning tool, inflated numbers won't change anything.

FWIW the whipple tune made 448/443 at the same boost level. John found 40 hp. I just bought a set of GT500 injectors from a guy on the Shelby forum. Now I'll be searching for a Mafia and another set of rails to make swapping injectors easier.

I swear this is a drug, 500 rwhp here I come!

Bruce, I have a couple of questions for you. You said you got the ford racing short block, I assume based on the price you were talking about essentially a stock block (M-6009-463V) and not the forged one (M-6009-A463SC) because you were putting your own separate internals in, right? Other than cost, was there any specific reason for that? was there any stamping/labeling on the shortblock you got that would indicate it is anything other than stock? I'm only asking because I am unsure if I would run into trouble with the visual inspection for smog in CA if was to use the FR forged shortblock.

The block looked identical to my stock block. I used all the covers off of my motor, even the factory stickers stayed on. You can't tell it from a stock motor.

Except for the supercharger

Yes, I went this route because I saved money. It all started with getting the Saleen stuff for $700 (cp pistons and manley h beams + rings, pins, bearings). I'm also not going for max boost so the 9.5:1 pistons are close to stock compression to retain unboosted power on the street. The frpp aluminator uses 8.7:1 pistons for higher boost applications.
