Default Installed Brenspeed J&L racer CAI and 93 tune, clattering at WOT?

I posted this question in the more general forum by mistake so i thought i would ask here. I just installed my C&L CAI and the 93 octane Brenspeed caned tune. The car has noticeable clattering at WOT that was never there before. Also the tune really didn't make a significant noticeable difference in the way the car feels on the butt dyno. I notice better throttle response, but that is it. I always read comments here about a night and day difference. what gives? I am running quality 93 octane fuel, the station i buy from doesn't even use ethanol in the gas. Ideas?

Edit-- i meant C&L typed J&L by mistake.

the thing to do is email
brenspeed telling them of the pinging. they will
either send you a modified tune, or they may ask
you to datalog a few parameters.

i wouldn't drive the car too hard, until the
pinging is gone.

The pinging is detonation or pre-ignition. That's a bad thing. It will destroy the pistons.

I have a Brenspeed tune. According to them, the differance between the mid grade and premium tunes is the timing curve. Switch to the next tune down to decrease the timing.

I'v tried both tunes in my car. The differance between stock and mid grade is certainly noticable. But stepping up to the premium tune doesn't feel any differant to me.

Or your gas sucks. Even the custom 87 tune kicks azz over the stock 87 tune.
