Missed this thread!
Good job on the build! My car did not work so well with the FRPP tune. I attribute that to the Steeda belt drive, cams and heads.

my tuning guru is only 15 miles away and if i just want
to have dyno runs, there's a local shop which is only
about 10 miles away from the house.
I can't wait to get your dyno numbers for a before and after.

On a side note, I get dyno'd and tuned this next weekend.

well you are in luck Simon1 because what i think i'm
going to do, is do a pull with the 10psi
pulley then put on the 12psi pulley for the
second pull, both will be with the stock
whipple tune.

i have my dyno graph from the stock short block
with 10psi pulley and whipple tune, so the "before"
is covered.

let me know how your tuning and dyno day goes.

Looking foward to these results!

I will put up a post with the results.

I use Diablo software right now and have been happy with it. However there are sometuners who like the SCT stuff. I have a brand new SCT X3 with a Kenne Bell tune on it made for my car with a slightly different fuel system so I can use it. On Friday or Saturday the tuner and I will figure out if I'm going to stay with the Diablo or go with the SCT. Then I will sell the other tuner.

If you are doing a custom tune I think the lower compression/forged motor will make more power at the same PSI. They will be adding more timing due to compression and the forging, along with alittle more fuel. If it's done Custom at 10 PSI I would think you should be 485ish rwhp and 510 at 12psi. Just my predictions.

me too, but i'm only interested in the a/f data for the
most part.

i like your predictions! though i'm not sure whether
i'll be using a custom tune in the near future or not.

Don't be a *****. Get someone to maximize your motor power and drivability.

Me too. But you know as well as I do that with a built motor you can closer to the ragged edge in a tune without having near the concern of a stocker.

A little cam timing change, spark advance, change in A/F, you never know, you could find something that makes it hum like a hooker on saturday night.

Running the higher boost I would like to see what inlet temps do, along with coolant and spark advance. I think those are what i will battle with my motor and the KB. KBs are known to make stupid power, but also run hotter, getting heat soaked. We'll see.
