well, I have run both tunes and I do like the Bama tune a little more because its a little more aggressive off the line and overall.. though its also pretty rough on the tranny from what I hear because of those aggressive shifts (lightning quick). A day at the track and I can feel the tranny heating up...

Not arguing your gains at all and I hope they really do provide this kind of gain.
If in the future alot of other people praise it, it may have to go into my mod plans

One thing also you forgot to mention about the install,
it does take some time to do hehehe.
I really think the gears and shorty headers make the delete plates work alot more efficient, especially with the 4.10s, because at WOT from a dead stop- its ALWAYS in the powerband up til 4th gear (where its the most powerful), I could imagine that with less mods and different gears these not making a big difference until you get into the powerband.

Install was a peice of cake. I did a rear end disassembly on a 99 ford ranger with aluminum housing last week, and a trans axle off an older escort- this job was a cake walk in comparrison lol

honestly, I wasn't gonna put them on either- I just did it as a test run sort of deal...

lol I never really thought about getting these plates either until someone made a thread about them a few weeks ago. I found the exact same ones you got online so I went for it.

Interresting. There is some on Ebay right now for $87.78 shipped. My only problem is a retune. This mod would end up costing me $150-175 with buying a new tune.

Should have gotten the CAI from Brenspeed or BamaChips.. they allow free tunes for life if you get the CAI kit from them.

Not worth the $150(+tune), but definetly worth the $80 or so bucks, if you do the install yourself.

I did get my CAI/tuner combo from Brenspeed. However, I thought they would only give you an updated tune if you bought the next mod from them. So, I wouldn't think they would update my tune if I bought an Ebay part like this. Am I wrong? If so, I may consider this mod!

Brenspeed charges $35 for a retune if you dont buy the parts from them.

hhmm.. I remember getting a re-tune from them after being unsatisfied with my FRPP 4.10 install (got them from Ebay), and I was not charged for it.

I did get my CAI/Tune from them, they were very helpful with updated tunes.

That was a year ago though, things must have changed??
