Exclamation Oil leak from Driver side Cam sensor.

Recently discovered I got a leak coming from that seal on the Driv'ers side Cam sensor on the Cam cover. I did recently install an Oil separator and did notice that one side was crimped down too tight therefore was pinching on one side. Could that pressure build up cause that? Big thing being, How do you go about replacing this? Am I gonna have to pull the cover off?

How did you discover the leak?
Did it run all the way down to the ground or did you just happen upon it
while opening the hood?

I believe you are going to have to take the cover off but I am NOT certain.
We need a better voice in here to help you.

It pooled a little bit around the cam sensor and dribbled down on the inner side of the cam cover by the coil pack . I did kinda have this weird hunch because I was starting to get a faint oily smell in the air when driving on the Highway.

I would pull the valve covers and check the gasket. If the seal is broken it is going to continue to leak

are you talking about the cam seanor on the front cover, or the vct solenoid that protrudes from the valve cover?

If you are referring to the VCT sensor pictured below, the cam cover will require removal which is outlined on this handy TacoBill "How-to".

Yup that is it. It's gonna be a pain in the *** to replace but should be done. I wonder if Brenspeed sent me a defective cam cover. When I installed my Detroit Rockers I orders the powdercoated Covers to go with it. So when going to the dealer to order the part? WHat should I be looking for , and how do I remove the old one?

Check the link in my last thread as that How to covers the cam cover removal along with that seal.
