Both really. Whether you have 4.10 or 3.55, you're going to lose traction at the same wheel speed given the same suspension setup/tires.

If you're seriously drag racing it, then you're probably going to give suspension and traction a harder look, in which case 4.10s might be great for you.

Given when the power comes in with a twinscrew, and torque coming in very low with the stroker, I just don't have any need for lower gears currently.

I get that better drivers can make more use out of 4.10s than 3.55's, but in my view, I just don't see how one will be faster over the other having to feather it in 1st and 2nd, if its the speed (and friction) of the tire that is determining when you lose traction. Now, if you can come out of that, and hook with the 4.10s, you're obviously going to be quicker. One thing I can't answer is whether or not you have to shift an additional time with the 4.10s. I know it some car setups, people with 4.10s ended up with slower times than the 3.55 or 3.73 options simply because that had to throw in there an extra shift before the end of the 1/4.

Now, if you're going for safe engine power levels, you may be able to take advantage over the 4.10s to a greater extent, in which case, go for it! If outceltj is running the 475 kit and 4.10s and they're working out, I can't question that . I just know that at some of the higher kit levels (I am at the 580 currently), I feel like the 4.10s would really be overkill.

I suggest you post your own thread regarding this topic. You will have more luck in the section relating to your year of Mustang. This is for the 2005-2009 Mustang.
