Just how touchy is the throttle? I drive my GT year round and wonder how it will react in the winter ( 5 speed auto/410s)

All of the twin screws for the S197 have a boost bypass at low RPMs. They drive like stock unless you start to mash it.

I know that part about the bypass valve, but what exactly is "mash on it"?

Boost for the Vortech is right around 2800 til redline, and that's peaking. It builds at 2800, which isn't all that much power felt. I wish I had a chance to drive a twin screw GT to see how it drives like..

It's also a matter of the pulley you have on there. Before, I didn't see boost until about 1/3-1/2 throttle. That was with a 4lb pulley. Now that I have a 12 lb pulley, I see boost at 1/4. My throttle is a little touchy, but I expect that given the power level. It's certainly nothing I cannot or get used to. A lot of it comes from going back and forth between my DD and the Stang. The DD has a lot harder throttle.

With the stroker, I am making over 400 ft lbs at 2250 RMP up to 463, and goes back down to 350 by 6500 rpm. So yes, boost and power comes in very early. There really isn't a feeling of the boost building. It's kinda of just . . . there. But that is flooring it. If I am at half throttle, I am into boost still, but not letting nearly as much air obviously. It's pretty easy to control how intense it is, just because it's all there when you want it, and YOU get to determine how much of it you want.

I take the Vortech off during the winter for safetys sake (both mine, and the supercharger : long story! buah!)

I have been thinking about getting the Saleen...
pull the trigger u will like it better than your vortech plus u will not have to pull it every winter

Gary Yeoman Ford in Florida. Largest Roush dealer in the US. They bought a ton of kits from Roush and were listing them on their Ebay site. I called them and bought from them direct avoiding Ebays fees. We settled on the price of 3460.00 to my door. Look on Ebay and see if any are left.

I am hoping more can chime in with some feedback on the Saleen SuperShaker as that is what I am leaning towards right now.

Anyone out there running 410's with a TS? I would be interested in getting your feedback. I hear 373's probably would be a better combo given the low end torque with the TS.
Im running 410s with my 475 stage 1 saleen. I had this installed in december so right out of the gate i had to be gentle with the throttle and it is. Guys who claim they cant keep from ripping there tires dont know how to drive. u can drive it like its stock but with a little extra hp. Then when u get on it it doesnt take long to get going. My goals were to have no low end loss. So i think i have accomplished that. If u your curiouse about my number im make 438hp and 430tq

To the OP

When u decide on what supercharge to get I would suggest waiting until black friday or until xmas. i got my saleen 475 kit for 5100 instead of 5800 and the install was suppose to be 750 and got it done in december for 200. I saved 1250 just being patient. But i understand wanting to get it done. Just thought i would throw that out there

IMO, there does come a point where the 4.10's are overkill. Unless you're really going to put the money into the suspension and tires required to hook hard in 1st, that torque multiplication becomes almost unusable.

I have 3.55's on mine, and it launches harder than my current tires can handle with any certainty. Sure you can feather the throttle, but unless your traction is different, feathering with 4.10's and feathering with 3.55's still probably means you're going the same speed .

All that said, my powerband/levels may be different from yours in a manner that I feel more comfortable with 3.55's than with 4.10s.
