Default Gear change/tune question

If I change my current gear to a 3.73, does brenspeed have to rewrite my tunes for my auto trans or can i simply change my settings on the handheld to the new gear?
Thanks,

You can change the settings yourself but with an auto, there's a little more benefit to having the tune set-up to take the gear change into consideration. Adjusting it yourself only affects the speedometer whereas the tune can also be rewritten to adjust the shift points and other parameters which are over my head.

Well you dont have to get another tune, but it may benefit you to do so. Although, your tune may already be somewhat improved with better shifting characteristics.
With gear changes, there may be specific shifts that need tweaking, such as 2nd-3rd, while others are just fine.

Email or call Brenspeed. They might be able to help you just "update" your tune without paying for a few one. I paid a nominal fee for them to adjust the shift points/tune for my 4.10 gear.

$35 last time around for me but since I went FI I have the JDM tune and wont be asking Brenspeed to tune my Roush blower. I would go to AM/Bama for an N/A tune get free tunes for life.
