Default Will the intake tune itself?

If I buy an intake that requires a tune, if i unplug the battery, install it and turn the car on will the cars computer configure itself without having me do the whole CAI thing? Basically I was wondering if I could buy the intake that needs a tune without the CAI Tuner. Will that work, or do I need to buy it with the Tuner?

Pointless to spend money on a CAI without a Tune. Even the "tuneless" CAI's can cause a Check Engine Light to pop on from running too lean. On top of that you wont gain much with a tuneless CA (5 or 6 RWHP). CAT + Tune will net 15 -25 RWHP and 10-20 RWTQ depending on whether you're a V6 or V8

Save up teh extra $300 and get a CAI with Tune from a reputable place.

If you run a tuned CAI without the tune, you will probably blow your engine up. Just as a for instance, go unplug your idle air tube and try driving it lol. You don't get too far before it stalls.

Running a tune-required CAI without installing a tune will cause the engine to run lean and eventually cause damage. Please research your mods before doing something... unfortunate.

No. Your idea won't work.

No because an intake that requires a tune increases the size of the diameter around the MAF...so a tune is needed to even run.
