im most curious to see how much of a difference it makes.

my 10gt came with 3.73. that being said if i was looking at a gear swap id probably looka t 4.30.

4.30.........some hot rod cams.......long tubes......and a custom tune *drool*.

i want cams so so bad. but i don't have the money to do it all at once. im thinking i might just do the cams then the long tubes. may not even bother with the gears if drivability is ok.

I put a set of ford racing 4.10 gears in my car, so I know the truth. No gear whine, I still have first gear and still very street friendly. One of the best mods IMO! First gear is not like stock duh! But the low end power change redefined the car. Im running 11.50s with spray and slicks only problem I've ever had is traction. You will want better tires mine will spin through 3rd if you allow it

When driving around town and at a stop light with the 4:10s you will notice your shifting out of first gear before your even through the intersection!
It is the best bang for the buck mod though.

the swap from 3.73 to 4.10 was not huge but noticeable. To me it was worth the change. My gt is a low end monster...

I did the 4:10 gear swap in my 05 after installing an M-90. Knowing what I know now...I might not have done the blower if I would have done gears first. I am not a racer and probably never will be. I do however live out in the country and like to "give her the onions" so to speak whenever I get the chance.

What it did do was make my car a hell of a lot more fun to drive. First to second is a pretty short duration experience. 2nd to 3rd is an absolute hoot and you can even get a bit of a chirp going into 4th. Muddle along in pretty much any gear...blip the gas, drop one and stand on it. Love it. Cant imagine having a mustang any other way. The M-90 was just a bonus that did not provide anywhere near the seat of the pants feeling of increased acceleration that the gears did. Cool mod for sure. Speedo is off now about 12% but that doesnt bother me much either.

Is it faster? Damned if I know. I dont really care.
