Your noise is not fuel injectors. Can you hear it when sitting in the drivers seat? How about standing next to the car with the hood closed?

The only time I notice the injectors ticking is with the hood open working on the car.

@moosetang You are right not fuel injectors. Worth a look. I am going with the lash adjuster/lift as the problem.

It's probably the cam phasers, but at 170k miles, you might need new tensioners and chains. I'd drop the oil pan and look for any bits of plastic from the tensioners.

Welcome to the sewing machine that is the 3v engine.

Mine has ticked since I bought it and after putting in the new injectors with the supercharger it got way worse. I thought we broke something during the install it was that bad. I called Kenne Bell and was told not to worry about it - that it was injector noise. This tick is bad enough you can hear it with the hood down standing next to the car.

Thousands of miles, tons of street pulls, and so far nothing has broken yet.

I seriously doubt both those noises are coming from the same problem. Yours sounded more like a knock than a tick. Sounds to me like rod knocking.
