Default Motor question!

So, are our 4.6l 3v interference engines or non-interference engines? So if the timing chain was to snap would be be okay? Or is there a recommended service interval where we should change our chains?? Just something I have been wondering about

If your chain snaps... WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!

I am sure it happens but I haven't heard of anyone with the problem.

I don't think it's ever ok if a timing chain snaps. LOL Yes they are interference motors. If you need to replace your chains make sure you get a complete kit with new idlers and cassettes too.

Is there a service interval that ford recommends we go a timing chain job? I couldn't find it in the manual

Service interval for chains are 100 - 120K miles for normal usage. Sometimes the cassettes can fail prematurely and cause rattle so at that point when your there do the chains.
