Default Camshaft Position Sensor

Hey guys im new to the forum. I recently purchased a 2006 GT WITH 91,000 miles and in great condition. However i just got a code for "camshaft position sensor". Should i be concerned about this or let it slide for now?

Code P0340 is usually an indication of the alternator going out. Do a search on the specific DTCs for better info.

Its an alternator issue. A diode within the alternator causes interference with the CPS which makes it throw a code. It may or may not cause an issue. Mine has been coming off and on for 2 and half years. I ignore it.

I had the same issue happen at roughly 85k. Ran the code, unplugged and re-plugged the sensor wires and haven't thrown a code since (coming up on 95k)

alternator! Don't even entertain other ideas. You need a ripple test done to show the alternator is the problem or you can just get a new alternator. I would buy an aftermarket alternator from americanmuscle.com.
