Default Surging

I have a 2006 mustang GT, 4.6 ltr. The only mod I have is Roush cold air intake. At low RMP, around 1500, it has a tendency to surge or buck. I can get the rpm's up and have no issues. The engine light is on so I got it scanned and its throwing cam sensor on the number 1 bank. I read into it and I've been told that a voltage issue caused by the alternator can do the same thing and throw the same code. Any thoughts??

yep. replace the alt sooner rather than later, before it leaves you stranded. I would replace it with a 2010 alt. I think there is a minor pinout change in the plug but not 100% sure. you can search about that. do you have a tune for your CAI or is it a "no tune required" CAI? good luck and welcome to the forum!

The CIA doesn't require a tune unless I take the baffle out. I do think it's getting too much air so I am going to get a timer and take the baffle out. Will the low voltage cause the surging?

low voltage can cause all kinds of problems. you can have it (alt and battery) checked. I think its more involved to test the actual diodes in the alt. clean the TB and the MAF sensor as well. good luck

Thank you for your time. I will check these issues and let you know what I find.
