Reason for timing codes
Ok,
I been fight this time code issue for about 6 months. I've retimmr it's triple check done it 3 different ways. This thing make big power but after 3 key cycles it never fail to trip a p0012 or p0022 code. Has new alternator new everything. What else code do it. Bad cam phaser, vct sensor, I'm lost it gets good mpg what else could it be.?

what exactly have you done to the motor? what has been replaced and what hasn't? those codes as you know are both banks over retarded. triple checked 3 different ways is 9 times checking the timing. a failing alt wont just trip the 2 codes, usually VCT sensors and all that. sounds to me that you might be a tooth off on both chains, that would be weird tho if they are both on their respective marks. has the oil pump been replaced? tensioners and O rings? possible low oil pressure to phasers at certain RPM that trips code?
Yes time chains replaced, tensioners also replaced. I did do so exhuast work as well but that's not related to this.
Timing was done as follows.
Chain laying out pulled so both odd links are on both sides. Then marked chain then both paint marks go placed on marks. The dot on crack gear the L on driver's side and the I on passenger side . Then I have changed time 4 times. This past time I did it the way said here. Right now the only codes showing in the systems is following. P0430 and p0420 both cat codes due to o/r H. And POO12. Is the only codes as of right now. I do have almost 100 miles on it since Wednesday. I have to drive it now because my truck said FU.
No new codes but I'm sure the code p022 will pop soon it always does.
I was enjoying working on this car but now I wish I was getting paid. Luckily it only takes about 3 hours to do all this work.
