So I own a 2007 Mustang Gt, whipple supercharged, Detroit rocker cams, great car!
When it runs
So a week ago the car randomly died on me, replaced battery and alternator because charging system was bleh, and no issues for about two days, then it completely decided to no start with - - - - - - displaying across the odometer. The car would only engage starter when you pull on the engine ground, no biggie! I replaced the ground and everything was fine for another day, then BOOM! The worst of the worst! Car only cranks and doesnt fire, found out the crank sensor was disconnected on accident, then it fires but with an entirely new problem. The throttle body clicks and and flutters rapidly, Ive checked all grounds and no change after cleaning them. I work for a Ford dealer and so far it is being diagnosed but theyre scratching their heads just as much as me. Whenever the throttle body is plugged in, the car will NOT crank and display the odometer fault - - - - - -, but as soon as you disconnect the throttle body it will start and run extremely poorly and the gas pedal is 95% unresponsive but is giving commands for the throttle body to open. (We use ford IDS and PTS to see data logs) senior master tech suspects a bad PCM, foreman is hopeful its something else and wants to do a master pin-point test across the whole ECU and harness. Im suspicious its something much simpler.
About TWO weeks ago while in a movie, (Oppenheimer, GREAT MOVIE!) my windows were down and it rained very heavily in my area and my interior was completely soaked in water, I tried my best to clean it but didnt think about the BCM in the kick panel, would this have anything to do with it? The car is dead in the water! Please, any help is appreciated! If anyone else has had a similar experience (I doubt knowing my luck) please reach out! Thanks again!
