I can see how shorter ratio=higher top speed, the GT is drag limited at around 148 mph, this is in 5th gear and 4300 rpm (no where near redline...)
With 4.10s at 148 mph you would be doing 5100 rpm in 5th (according to spreadsheet) which is still not near the readline, there is more engine power (but probably less torque) at this rpm.
