Just found out my gas tank is leaking fuel from the grommet. Herei thought i was running rich because of the smell of fuel... anyhow, any of you guys know how difficult it would be to fix this problem?

i used RVT silicone around the tank to the filler neck (lots of it) has been there for 8 months now and does not leak. a new grommet though cost about 25 dollars.

yeah, i looked into a grommet... it's just the labor i'm concerned with. Would i have to drop the whole tank or can it be done another way...

take the three bolts inside the fuel door out, on bolt on the filler neck under the car and the neck pulls out. pull out the grommet, push the new one in and reconnect the neck, takes about 10 minutes very simple. i will do mine too eventually but i need a new sending unit also, so i will do it all at the same time.
