Default Tach wire

On a 88 Lx 4cyl. What is the wire color coming off the tach on the cluster and if possible what style plug and # of pins are in the end of the harness with that wire.

Thanks
Doug

Not to steal the post. Do you have the gauge and dash wiring for a 93 convertable with 2.3? Will need this hopefully soon on the SHO project. Thanks Maurice

I got it hooked up. But it is not reading correctly. The car was originally a 4cyl. but now has a v6.

Ive read somewhere that on the back of the tachs there is a switch to change it 4/6/8 cylinder. Is this true?

ive heard the same thing but i dont think its true as im looking at a 85 and 90 cluster as i type. but yea it will read wrong. just get a v6 one from a bone yard problem solved, or take apart your cluster since u will need to to remove the gauge and see if theres a switch indeed.

i have taken mine out, and i dont remember this, but that doesn't mean it's not there... its not too bad taking the dash apart, so i would say try it out and see

The 87-93 cars NEVER had a V6 option so the cluster is specific to the 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder models.

You need an aftermarket tach in the 87-93 cluster to get the V6 RPM's to read right or a tach from 79-86 inito the 79-86 cluster
