something ive noticed recently, when im driving along and have to stop quickly, the engine has a tendency(20% of the time) to just die out on me. the times it does not die, the rpms still drop below idle. ive checked the float settings, they are fine...anybody have any info on how to stop it from doing this¿

mine did the same thing check vacuum leaks and also its probably your idle mixture thats what was wrong with mine. does your idle kinda pulse up and down kinda like a vroom vrooom vroom vrooom

did you adjust it so it idles higher¿ right now mine is stable at about 600 rpm

I had the same problem on my truck. It turned out to be a broken spring inside of the automatic choke. Not sure if you have a manual choke or not. It would run fine but everytime I would slow down to fast it would start to choke out on me. put new spring in and works like a charm now.

its a manual choke, right now its wired open, havent gotten around to hooking it up yet

have you checked to make sure the wire hasn't loosened up enough to let the butterfly close partially?
