Air SIlencer?

I always here people say remove the air silencer, what is it ,where is it , and how do I go about taking it out?

Its the bnox inside the fenderwell on the passenger side that the factory air box connects to, just a few bolts and it will fall out then fish it through the bottom of the fender! Done
