smog pump eliminator
i put a smog pump eliminator kit on an 87 gt with no cats. the car smokes a litle now and has a REAL strong smell likes it is running real rich. i know i need to put cats on it- this is the way the car came from previous owner, but is there anything else i should check out? i'm thinking it may be time for some O2 sensors. anyone else had this problem?

have you put many miles on it since ?
it will smell a bit w/ no cats for sure, but smoke should not be new from the pump alone being dumped.
i would check timing and fuel pressure....i'm sure you can knock the fp down a bit, lean it out a bit, and it will smell better and run better too.
