Piston to valve clearance
I just got a 306 shortblock with forged pistons. I was wondering if anyone knows if these will have clearance issues on 2.02" valve heads (like afr 185s) without notching them. Here are the specs on the pistons. Brand: TRW
Product Line: Speed-Pro Power Forged Pistons
Bore (in): 4.000 in.
Piston Material: Forged aluminum
Piston Style: Flat
Compression Distance (in): 1.605 in.
Dish Volume (cc): 2.70cc
Valve Reliefs: Four
Wrist Pin Style: Press fit
Pin Diameter (in): 0.912 in.
Top Ring Thickness: 5/64 in.
Second Ring Thickness: 5/64 in.
Oil Ring Thickness: 3/16 in.
Piston, Forged, Flat Top, 4.000 in. Bore, 5/64 in., 5/64 in., 3/16 in. Ring Grooves, Ford, 289/302
ANY help would be greatly appreaciated as im looking to get an entire new top end asap.

RE: Piston to valve clearance
You forgot the most important part....the cam. Either way the only way to know for sure is to check it yourself. When it comes to somthing like PTV clearnace I don't trust what anyone says, I want to see it for my self.
