Took a bit to get the pics, but i needed the A/C delete so i could get the timing adjusted right, and had to use this cheezy air cleaner for clearance till i get the Cobra R hood i want. Finally got the A/C delete bracket, and slapped it in. Been kinda lazy though, i need to get rid of all the old wires and vacuum hoses just hanging out under the hood doing nothing, and still got some more A/C parts to get rid of. Also gotta get some new heater hoses, since the factory metal peice that mounts to the EFI intake won't fit under the carb. I got them blocked off for now. Here's where im at so far:

Also, i got these valve covers on the way, and im gonna get an oval air cleaner, and chrome cobra plate from a 98 mustang (centered in air cleaner) with a 302 emblem just under the cobra. Should turn out nice when im finished sometime in the next millenium. Anyway, heres what i ordered, lemme know what you guys think:

no carb love out there? anyone think my air cleaner idea is borderline ricey? I wanted to get the real cobra air cleaner, but it only came in black, and was too long and wouldn't clear my big a$$ HEI dizzy. That's the best i could come up with was to make my own out of some easy to find parts. Any opinions/suggestions?

Not real sure on gains as i've never run it on the strip, but my car had some issues, and never really ran up to par with the EFI setup. When i put the carb on it, everything clicked and the car has a TON more power than it had (something EEC related was going on previously), and the throttle response was wonderful over the speed density/stock efi stuff i had on it. Plus im now cleaning up all the holes, and wires and hoses all over the place. The Old EFI intake weighs about 15 pounds more than the carb AND intake (maybe more). The wires aren't that hard to remove, and take up another 5 pounds.

Overall, im SUPER happy with the results of my carb setup, and was ALOT cheaper than upgrading TB/CAI/intake/injectors and all that other expensive stuff. Good luck man, the swap is pretty easy to do. you'll spend more time cleaning up old wiring than the swap itself. Let me know if you need any pointers, and i'll help ya out as best as i can.

what do you have have take into account as far as computers and whatnot go? or do you just clip the wires , drop in the intake and carb and hook up throttle linkage?

That air cleaner is far from being ricer. I will be doing the exact same swap soon enough. Your project looks like its off to a great start. Looks like you just have a little bit of cleaning up to do with the engine bay. What kind of distributer is that, does it have a mechanical advance or is it just vacuum advanced?
